Thesis Topic:
What evidence currently exists regarding inter-limb asymmetry in kinematics and kinetics during dynamic movements
– A Systematic Review
Inter-limb asymmetry in healthy adults has been widely examined within gait and human locomotion research due to its potential relevance for performance and movement efficiency. This systematic review synthesizes current evidence on asymmetry in kinematics and kinetics during dynamic tasks such as walking, running, and jumping. Studies consistently report measurable asymmetries in healthy individuals, though the magnitude and direction of these differences vary across tasks and biomechanical variables. This review aims to provide an updated overview of biomechanical asymmetry in healthy adults and identify methodological gaps for future research.
