Burn-out & Energy balance-related behaviour - INHOUD PROJECT
Burn-out & Energy balance-related behaviour in secondary school teachers in Flanders
Given the steep increase in incidence and prevalence of burn-out, effective interventions are needed. Improving energy balance related behaviour may be a promising strategy to counter burn-out in high-risk populations, such as secondary school teachers. Therefore, the purpose of this PhD research is to investigate the relationship between energy balance related behaviour (i.e. physical activity, sedentary behaviour and dietary behaviour) and burn-out in secondary school teachers. The first step of this PhD is to assess the relationship between energy balance related behaviour and burn-out by a follow-up of this population during an entire school year. Based on these results, experimental studies will be performed to facilitate the development of an intervention aiming at preventing or reducing secondary school teachers’ risk on burn-out.
