Together with the international Aquatic Literacy For All Children (ALFAC) consortium, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) welcomes you on Thursday, September 18th, 2025 for a full day of science and networking regarding safe and sustained engagement in aquatics.
In the morning, we will host the 1st Swimming Education and Aquatic Literacy Research Symposium providing a platform for experts from the field to share their insights and present their latest research findings and/or practical insights through oral and poster presentations. This symposium promises to be an inspiring exchange of knowledge, bridging practice and science in the world of swimming and aquatic literacy.
In the afternoon, you are all warmly invited to attend the ALFAC Closing Ceremony. During this engaging session, we will take you through the key milestones of the European ‘ALFAC’ Erasmus+ Sport project (https://alfac.eu), offering an in-depth look at each phase of its development. Additionally, we will showcase the outcomes and highlight the results in view of our European database and international comparison. We will also present a pedagogical toolkit for teaching swimming and aquatic literacy providing valuable insights into the project's impact and significance.
