Dr. Steve De Decker (°05/06/1973) graduated in 1996 as a Master in Physical Education and Movement Sciences at the Free University of Brussels (VUB) and also obtained his PhD degree at the same institution in 2006 with a doctoral thesis on "Cross sectional fieldresearch on the influence of the jumping ability and the morphology on the performance of simple till complex tumble skills”. Since November 1996, he is a part-time lecturer at the Department of Movement and Sport Sciences (BESW) of the Faculty of Physical Education and Physiotherapy (LK) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). From 2006 till 2015 he was head of the researchprogram on the motor skill control in 4 tot 6 year old Flemish children” that was conducted at Eramushogeschool Brussel (EhB) in cooperation with the VUB. Since 1997 he works as a full time lecturer at EhB, where he is involved in several projects on didactics and pedagogics. As coördinator of the department physical education and recreation he is connected with the research of the knowlegde center of EhB on “Urban coaching”.
